Windows & Doors
Craftsmanship is in the
details.
As a small-town company, quantity has never been a driving force.
Here, quality is the end-all. Granted, this compulsive work ethic
isn't going to make us the largest window company anytime soon.
The truth is, we rather enjoy the solitude. We can't think of a
better environment in which to go about our craft.
Step One: Start with the best materials.
Carefully selected Ponderosa Pine cutstock is machined, then
bathed in a preservative to ensure the highest possible water
repellency and durability. Each piece is then readied for
assembly.
Step Two: Craft them one
piece at a time.
Each finished component is first inventoried and then handpicked
to meet the requirements each individual order.
Step Three: The window
begins to take shape. Exterior frames and window sashes are
sub-assembled and readied for the glass.
Step Four: Where a window
becomes a window. The frame, sash and glass are carefully
assembled into the finished products. The finished windows are
transferred to the mulling areas.
Step Five: Another Hurd
traditional wood window makes its way into the world. The
finished windows are packaged, labeled and staged in the shipping
department until they're loaded and delivered to distributors.
